Speech and Language Therapy
Promoting effective communication is central to all that we do at High Park School as developing spontaneous and functional social communication skills will support our pupils in every aspect of their lives. Social communication skills enable our pupils to express their ideas, needs and feelings in positive ways. Our Speech and Language Therapy Team work alongside teaching staff to train and develop their skills to ensure the integration of education and therapy within our highly specialised environment. This promotes the development of children’s functional communication, independent learning and self-esteem. Speech and language therapy is provided throughout the curriculum and integrated into all learning opportunities. We enable each pupil to communicate in the best way they can, making the most of their social communicative potential. The school commissions additional Speech & Language Therapy to enable this work.
